What Coaches Say

The learning experience is unique for each individual who trains with us.

More details

Choosing a coach training programme is not easy these days. The growth of coaching worldwide, both as a profession and as a management skill, has brought with it an explosion in training providers.

For this reason, we thought it might be useful to share with you what we think is important about training as a professional coach, so that you can decide for yourself if we are your sort of provider.

Coaching is both an art and a science. At its heart is the coaching conversation. Developing the skill to facilitate this conversation effectively comes only from practice. You cannot, for example, become a world-class musician simply by studying the theory of music.

The science, namely our growing understanding of how the mind works, suggests that certain types of coaching conversation are more likely than others to help our clients make the changes they want. Understanding these theories is the foundation of our training.

More importantly, just as it takes time for our clients to develop new ways of thinking and behaving that allow them to realise their full potential, so too does the development of your coaching skills. This is why the ICF, which has accredited our programme, asks for at least 125 Coach Specific Training hours as a requirement to achieve the proficiency as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC).

The ICF also requires 750 hours of coaching experience for its PCC credential and 100 hours for ACC (Associate Certified Coach). This is why working with clients is an integral part of our training programmes.

So for us, the following are essential to your success as a professional coach:

  • understanding how the mind works and the principles of coaching;
  • developing the skills to facilitate an effective coaching conversation;
  • learning from the experience of coaching clients;
  • building a range of coaching frameworks to meet different coaching scenarios.

Combining face to face workshops and distance learning methodologies, we provide a learning experience that will enable you to put your developing coaching skills to work in the minimum amount of time.
